Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026. This policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use this website and the downloadable viewer.
MBox Viewer privacy summary
We do not ask for your name, do not offer accounts and never receive the content of your email. MBox Viewer is a desktop program that runs on your own computer.
Downloading MBox Viewer and your privacy
The download button links directly to the official release file on SourceForge. When you click it, your browser requests the file from SourceForge's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as with any download. SourceForge's own privacy policy applies to that request. We do not receive any information about the download.
The program runs on your computer and reads your mail archives there. We have no access to the files you open with it. Its behaviour is the responsibility of its developers; see the project's documentation for details.
Information collected by the MBox Viewer website
Like most websites, the server that hosts this site keeps standard technical logs. These may include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, the date and time, and the referring page. Logs are used only to keep the site running, detect abuse and fix errors, and are deleted on a regular schedule.
The site does not use analytics scripts, advertising networks or social media trackers.
Fonts used on the MBox Viewer site
Pages load the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests the font, Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy for how it handles this information.
Email you send us about MBox Viewer
If you write to contact@mboxviewer.us.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply, do not add you to any list and do not share it.
Children and the MBox Viewer website
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights on the MBox Viewer site
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. Because we hold very little, most requests can be handled quickly. Contact us at the address above.
Changes to the MBox Viewer privacy policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
